You can’t imagine the energy these nine girls radiate.

They’re like a group of recent graduates, stepping out of their youthfully vibrant school uniforms—brimming with vitality and freshness. The budding charm of their student days has seamlessly carried over into their time as a group, now blossoming into a more mature and dazzling brilliance. For this shoot, we hoped to get closer to their post-debut experiences in the real world—their new adventures, their evolving selves—as well as the passion and beauty they unleash freely in a world of imagination.”

On the day of the shoot, Shanghai was hit by a torrential downpour—thunder roared, lightning flashed, and flooded roads made travel difficult. The industrial-style studio had severe leaks from the roof. Yet even in such conditions, THE9’s arrival lit up the entire set.

They stand tall, comfortable, and professional, showing their different beauties in front of and behind the camera.

In front of the camera, Yu Shuxin responded with an adorable expression.

If there were no restrictions, what kind of life would Yu Shuxin want to experience?
Her answer: ‘A drama queen—dressing differently every day and living out different roles. Today I’m a movie star, tomorrow I’m working as a concierge, the day after that I’m a boss lady, and then a fashion stylist.

Her desire for transformation seems to echo every life choice this young woman has made—acting in dramas, appearing on variety shows, and joining a girl group. Time has witnessed her innocence and naivety, but also her dedication and sincerity.

On the stage of Don’t Ask, It’s Scary, dressed in a flowing white dress, the once-fragile girl danced barefoot, fluttering like a butterfly in flight. Her delicate, intricate steps and the deeply emotional expression on her face as she immersed herself in the melancholic lyrics—it was here that Yu Shuxin, who had never sung or danced before joining the show, finally broke out of her cocoon and became a butterfly.

Yu Shuxin gives off the sense of a resilient strength blooming from a lush field of flowers — a captivating aura that envelops the whole audience. During this shoot, she wore an exaggerated bow-tie top, a red Scottish plaid skirt, and ornate pearl-embellished shoulder straps — bringing sweetness, elegance, and playfulness to life with striking precision. She firmly believes that fashion is cyclical. And years from now, she’ll still be that ever-changing girl who loves bows and pearls.
